The Liminal Space of Art and Poetry
Painting and poetry collaboration by Simone and Sasha
Personalised Poetry and Painting
Personalised pieces are available upon request. This can be created as a gift to yourself or a loved one, which encapsulates a particular event, time or moment in one’s life. A carefully designed questionnaire will be sent to you, once its answers have been studied, a video/phone call will be arranged to address any questions and fine tune the details, to give us a clear enough picture to collaborate and create a unique and original art print with poem, to reflect the nature of the person and subject. Ideas based on intuitive interpretation will be discussed with you throughout, ensuring you are an integral part of the creative process. The finished piece is then delivered to you, ready for you to present it to a loved one, sharing with them a piece of themselves, expressed in an entirely new and personal way.
Cousins, Simone and Sasha have unravelled their stories onto paper.
Embracing their sensitivity to the movement of the world, trusting the human tendency to feel.
To feel something, is to get to know it in the most personal way and deepens ones articulation of self expression.
There is an emotive chemistry between poetry and art, their union conceives a language of its own.
The words of a poem become the medium for the canvas, each line drawn echoes an emotion felt from within the sentences, and the finished outcome is a full landscape of the heart of the poem itself.
Half of the human brain devotes itself to vision. Here the human eye is invited to feel the words through subtle hues of movement.
Words tend to linger, in this case their resonance walks onto a page, exhibiting their catalytic nature.
Poetry is translated into a rhythm, motion and depth through overlapping connecting lines, to speak to people through the language of art.
About Sasha
Sasha Hollis is an alternative movement and body therapist, her writing revisits simple moments in time from a more mindful perspective.
On paper the words shed a delicate and vulnerable skin, to share and evoke the raw emotions felt at the depth of each experience.
The words interlace to create a kinaesthetic journey, capturing emotion in time to relive and touch the most natural human tendency to feel, react and reconsider.
